Morning Meeting
Morning Meetings are a time to read and share stories or to do activities to support our Character Counts program. On Friday, Alex told me he would like to lead our meeting. I think he will be a tough act for me to follow! Enjoy...
Japanese Visitors
The students had a wonderful time attempting origami with our Japanese visitors last week. The visitors in our class enjoyed working in groups to model how to make a crane out of paper.

Vitamins and Nutrients
Have you ever seen this face at the dinner table? This week the students in Mrs. Horst's homeroom shared what on their dinner plate makes them make this face. They also shared some funny stories about how their parents get them to finally eat their veggies!
We learned that these foods (that some do not care for) are important because they contain vitamins and nutrients for our body. The students partnered up to research information on fats, carbohydrates, or proteins and why our body needs them. Check out the pictures of the students working in teams to record their research...

Sorting Foods with MyPlate
On Friday, the students worked in teams to sort foods as either vegetables, fruits, grains, proteins or dairy items in order to identify healthy food choices using MyPlate.
